This privacy notice tells you what you need to know about the personal information collected by AKay Bookkeeping. It applies to information we collect about:

People who visit our website
We use a third-party service, WordPress.com, to publish our website and blog. The site is hosted at WordPress.com, which is run by Automattic Inc. We use a standard WordPress service to collect anonymous information about users’ activity on the site, for example, the number of users viewing pages on the site, to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site and help us improve it. People who subscribe to our newsletter
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our monthly newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletter. MailChimp allows subscribers to unsubscribe at any time. People who email us
We use a third-party service, Google, for our email communication. We keep emails sent to us for up to one year, after which they are deleted. Emails are not shared with any other organisation, however, we would share relevant information with the Information Commissioner’s Office in the event of a data breach. People who use AKay Bookkeeping’s services
AKay Bookkeeping offers several services. We only collect the minimum data required to provide these services to you. Where you engage us to undertake your bookkeeping, we are required by the Anti Money Laundering Regulations 2017 to check your identity and record this data for 5 years after we cease to act for you. This data is stored securely and a secure back up is also kept. This data is not shared with any other organisation, however, we would share relevant information with the Information Commissioner’s Office in the event of a data breach.
We value our customers and like to say thank you. We would use your personal data to send you our thanks by post, for example, sending a Christmas card. You have the right to ask us not to send you any post like this and we would record this to ensure you do not receive any unwanted post.
Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have rights as an individual which you can exercise concerning the information we hold about you.

Complaints or queries
AKay Bookkeeping tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures and information provided.
